Roses form the main floral element, with santini and greenery alongside them. Santini is a small-flowered spray chrysanthemum: one branched stem carries a cluster of small blooms, adding a different flower form beside the roses. The flowers draw water from the floral foam, which needs to be kept moist. A short message is traditionally written on the funeral ribbon, with names or the sender's relationship to the deceased added.
