Dvorce lies on the border between Moravia and Silesia in the Nízký Jeseník range, at an altitude of 558 metres above sea level. The municipality comprises Dvorce and Rejchartice.

The first mention of Dvorce dates to 1339; after 1945, the municipality lost its town status and today has over 1,200 inhabitants. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Dvorce was an important centre of linen production, with around 2,000 looms operating in the municipality. On the square in Dvorce stands a fountain with a statue of Neptune dating from 1816, and nearby the Church of St Giles is listed as a cultural monument.
