Andělská Hora lies at about 640 metres above sea level. It is around 10 kilometres north-west of Bruntál. It has about 360 residents.

The town was founded in 1540 as a mining town where gold was extracted and regained town status on 23 April 2008. Above the town, the Baroque pilgrimage church of St Anne stands on Anenský vrch; built in 1767–1769, it has hosted pilgrimages again since 2002. From Anenský vrch, there are views of Praděd, Bruntál and Vrbno pod Pradědem. The parish Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is Gothic in origin and was modified in 1672 and 1734.
